<apologies for multiple copies -- this notice is going to MN Physics Chairs as well>

MINNESOTA AREA ASSOCIATION OF PHYSICS TEACHERS
Spring Meeting
Saturday, April 24, 2010
Saint John’s University, Collegeville MN

Please note that there are three awards given at the spring meeting each year: one for best student presentation, one for best student poster, and the Bruce Eaton award for best demonstration.

Please also note that this meeting will include elections for MAAPT officers (Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Section Representative, and possibly a communications officer [whose nickname must rhyme with "blooper spy"]). Please consider nominating a colleague -- or yourself.

CALL FOR PAPERS

This is the second call for papers/posters for MAAPT members and their students for the spring meeting. Papers and posters will be accepted on any topic. Those wishing to present must submit an abstract, with title, for each presentation. Please limit abstracts to 75 words. There is almost never an issue with the program becoming overfull, so if you submit an abstract, please plan to attend to deliver the paper or present the poster. Abstracts may e-mailed (in plain text, or as .doc , docx, or .pdf attachments) to:

Program Chair/MAAPT Vice President
Paul Nienaber
Saint Mary’s University Physics Department

Email: pnienabe at smumn.edu

Phone:	507.457.1532

DEADLINE FOR ABSTRACTS TO BE INCLUDED IN THE PROGRAM IS THE END OF THE BUSINESS DAY, MONDAY APRIL 19 2010.

Further information on the meeting will be distributed electronically with the preliminary program on April 20. Please direct questions to the MAAPT Vice President at the email address/phone above.

S P E C I A L N O T E: The MAAPT meeting coincides with Pinestock, a local SJU/CSB music festival. On campus parking may be limited for late arrivals on Saturday morning. Current plans include a starting time around 0815 as usual.
Most recent information indicates that lodging choices (many of which are in
Saint Cloud) will be unaffected.
